Message from HSA President Jon Hutchins 23rd March 2021

Dear HSA Members,

Re:

The Andrews Labor Government today announced the establishment of a new champion for Victoria’s $1.1 billion alpine economy.

The recent matters covered in the announcement regarding the governance arrangements for the alpine resorts have been circulating for some time.

The announcement today was a surprise to the committee and many others in the Alpine community.  It will be a difficult time for all those that may be impacted by the changes so it is prudent not to speculate on what the outcomes envisaged may be.

It follows the difficult conditions faced by the resorts in 2020 and until further details are released the Hotham Ski Association is not in a position to comment.

We can assure members however that the recent surge in HSA membership will provide a strong platform to undertake discussion across government on ensuring the resorts continue to prosper.

The committee will make every effort to continue our strong communication to members and advocate for their best interests.
